Research to Find What You Like

Go online, check magazines, click through bridal boutiques online, explore on Pinterest, and check out what your friends are wearing to compile a visual file of your favorite dresses. Location

Consider the location of your wedding; whether it is Indoor or Outdoor? Beach or Church or a Garden? Check about the guidelines any venue has, especially if you are having a church wedding.

Some churches would require yours shoulders and sleeves to be covered. For example, if you are having a Beach wedding it’s not advisable to wear a Big Ball dress with a Cathedral Veil else you would not only ruin your veil but the Tulle on the dress would also be ruined by rocks and stones too.

Set A Budget

Figure out how much you want to spend and tell your designer before you start selecting gowns. That way you won't lose your heart to a dress you can't afford. Typically, a wedding ensemble, including veil, undergarments and any other accessories, accounts for 10 percent to 15 percent of the total wedding cost. Factor in extras, such as alterations, dry cleaning, shipping or styling.

Carefully choose a Designer or a Bridal Store depending on if you are buying or making it. It's preferable to have two designers, set up an appointment and chat with them before you know who to go for.
